When you are writing any type of scientifically oriented academic content, one of the predominate questions of how to organize the footnotes in a Chicago style research paper. This is quite common due to the fact that Chicago remains one of the few formatting types which does not offer in-text citations but rather requires everything to be coordinated via footnotes.

  • Inside of the body of your text, rather than an author last name and page number, you are to put footnotes, starting in numerical order at the end of sentences or where you would otherwise reference your material.
