As a tradition of LCC, the school held the 2011 Christmas Reverse Caroling. Every year, the school organizes an event whereas youth volunteers gather donation of clothes, canned goods, toys and money for indigenous communities.
And this year’s caroling was a success, as successful as the previous ones held. It was made possible through the combined efforts of more organizations that participated in the event. Several individuals also showed their generous hearts through their moral and financial support.
As expected, the number of indigenous people that arrived mounted up than the last years. It’s a good thing that the volunteers and donations also grew, enabling us to pack a good deal of rice, clothes and toys in plastics bags. We have also prepared snacks of pancit and juice for them, candies and goodies for the children.College

Convergys’ HR manager Ms. Maria Roselyn Ombao visited Culion last February 8, 2011. She came with her friend- Star, to have some relaxation and experience of the enchanting and solitude island of Isla Culion. They arrived the day after the Ateneo de Manila President Rev. Fr. BienvenidoNebresS.J. with all of the president’s office staffs came at the Isle. She is the good friend and a former student of our school president Fr. Xavier Alpasa S.J. Ms. “Lheng” is a small but gorgeous girl that had been a part of huge companies like Unilever. She was a graduate of Ateneo de Naga University which is one of those “Angels” helping the Loyola College of Culion. Ms. Lheng is now part of one of the world’s largest companies in the Philippines.
Convergys is rated to having about 70,000 employees and have high possibilities to expand and recruit more employees on the next following years to come. They open a door of opportunities to Culion. She conducted a job preparation seminar for the students held at Loyola College of Culion’s Auditorium.
It’s really a pleasure to be visited by the eighteen-year president of Ateneo de Manila University, Rev. Fr. BienvenidoNebres S.J., and all his staff in the President’s office.
It’s a president day that they chose to visit the enchanting island of Culion. They arrived last Sunday afternoon, February 6 and immediately took their rest at Hotel Maya. They joined LCC community in its Monday morning assemblywherein Fr. Ben gave a short message about his historical visit in Culion. One thing that inspired the students was his emphasis on the significance of youth’s role as the agents of change for the better and brighter future of Culion.Page 1 of 5
