The idea of having an internet café originated from one of the outstanding priests, Rev. Fr. Gabriel T. Gonzales S.J. Unfortunately, the idea didn’t work out at first because of so many priorities and primarily due to the lack of funds. Given that during that period, LCC was already having problem on financial matters. That unpredictable situation became a struggle of the school to sustain its projects.
But the idea of providing prime resources continues and still with the efforts of Fr. Gaby Gonzalez, S.J. And when Rev. Fr. Sigmund de Guzman S.J., he reopened the project. The Internet connection was first set-up at the SJ convent and its operational stage began. At first, it was exclusive for the teachers alone. Yes! It was the beginning of the access to the internet.
Another significant figure, Rev. Fr. Rogel Anecito Abais S.J. explored more the said project. Cell phones were used as modems for accessing the internet. The students and the teachers learned how to use computer and the internet with a cell phone as modem.
When Rev. Fr. Joseph Lester Maramara with Fr. Florge Michael Z. Sy, S.J. came, the project continued and improved. Together with the LCC Board of Trustees, they conceptualized the LCC website. The internet access was fully developed by then.
