AHON Foundation Donated Books and Paint Materials to LCC

By: Mervin B. Sion

The Acts of Hope for the Nation (AHON) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the state of public education in our country by helping to build well-equipped and functional public elementary and high school libraries all over the country. In fact, AHON has already helped establish 16 libraries in public elementary school in several areas like Marikina, Quezon City, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Pangasinan.

The school just received paint materials and books last April 18, 2010 from the AHON Foundation. All of these materials were new. Books were up-to-date. They are practically useful for the high school students. Since Loyola College of Culion, has no more elementary department. Other children books were distributed/donated to the public schools within Culion community. Now, hundreds of children students at the rural area are benefiting from the grace of AHON Foundation. Fr. Bienvenido Nebres S.J., one significant figure behind the AHON Foundation stated that books are important because they allow the youth to open their eyes to new realities and enhance their imaginations. The books from AHON Foundation serve as tools for many children to aspire and reach for their dreams which will not be too far from reality.
