Rev. Fr. Marlito G. Ocon S.J. came from Cortez, Bohol, a distant place away from Palawan. His early attraction towards the deeds of the Jesuit missionaries was about to rise when he was still in high school. This divine desire continued to puzzle his heart while he was studying in college. It became deeper and clearer when he was in his fifth year of studies. Father Lito finished his degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. That was the time when he decided to open the door of his heart to answer the call of God; a call for a mission.
Father Lito’s heart and mind was at peace when he entered the Society of Jesus. It was God’s plan for him. After several years of studies and prayer, Father Lito had completed his vows; he was ordained on April 17, 2010. A mission for Father Lito had begun.
With his desire to serve others, Father Lito was assigned to Culion, an island he had never known. A peaceful, quiet and full of scenic views and beauty popped-up in his mind. Indeed, Culion was totally new for him.
When Father Lito arrived to Culion, a warm welcome of smiles was before him and had been with him all throughout.
Father Lito is now assisting Rev. Fr. Xavier C. Alpasa S.J. in the parish of Inmaculada Concepcion. He is now the assistant president of the Loyola College of Culion, the only Jesuit school in the whole province of Palawan. Knowing the current situation of the school, Father Lito admires the LCC community in its willingness to cooperate in every activity that will make the school a better one. He also mentions one thing that he wants for the school. He mentions about “improvement”. Father Lito believes that the school is an achiever, and no wonder that LCC will soon achieve its desired goal.
