The first day of orientation into different career clusters made the students excited as they learned courses which are not familiar to them. Their interest focused on the job opportunities that await after taking the course. After the orientation, all of them were asked to list their preferred courses, schools and the reasons for choosing them. On the second day of the program, invited professionals gave the students a career option talk. Mr. Elieser Gacayan, a licensed nurse from Culion General Hospital gave his reasons of taking nursing. Of course, some students were excited and felt that they wanted to take the course. PO1 Leah S. Cobilo, a Criminology graduate also shared her adventures in her field of work. It can’t be denied that becoming a policeman caught the interest of some students especially the men. Another important figure who also shared in the Career Option Talk was Ms. Maye Trinidad, the manager of Hotel Maya. Like what other professionals did, she also shared her expertise regarding Hotel and Restaurant Management. Lastly, two Jesuit novices selflessly delivered their knowledge about their field. Brother Carlo Lacang talked about Civil Engineering and Brother Timothy Joseph Ramos spoke about Computer Engineering. All of the speakers imparted tips which would surely help our students.
For additional resources, the Career Resource Corner was set up by the school librarian, Ms. Erlinda A. Torion. Students were given the privilege to read and find possible courses that would fit into their interest and skills. On the fifth day, the young college dean, Mrs. Mary Grace F. Non gave a lecture focusing on job hunting. Her objective was to give our students an idea about possible job application while they are in college. She gave relevant guidelines in order for the young individuals to get the job they want. On the last day of the program, Mrs. Lorna V. Lopez, adviser of the class made the students write their plans in life after graduation. Likewise, Fr. Xavier Alpasa, SJ, School President, gave an additional talk to help and inspire our graduating students.
