The administration, the parents , and the students, are but one family with one goal-to support the school in providing a better education, spiritual formation and to develop the spirit of “Magis” towards excellence.
The first PTA General Assembly of this year was held on September 5, 2009 @ 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The administration faculty members, staffs, and the parents were all present on that afternoon. The first part of this assembly was a Eucharistic Mass with Fr. Xavier C. Alpasa SJ, Assistant School President as the mass celebrant. During his homily, he shared his life full of inspirations and on how his parents struggled to sent him to school with the parents of the students. The purpose of his homily is to inspire and motivate each parents in supporting their children by sending them to a private Jesuit school. After the mass there was a short introduction by Fr. Florge Michael Z. Sy SJ Parish Priest and LCC school president. He welcomed all the parents and gave them a brief orientation of the flow of the meeting.He introduced all the speakers including the school registrar, Ms. Emilyn C. Umpad; high school principal, Mr. Christopher C. Cantaros; College Dean, Ms. Grace F. Non MA; the guidance counselor, Ms. Analita G. Gacusan; the LCC librarian, Ms. Erlinda Torion; the campus minister and school prefect Mr. Domingo Labios.
Each office/department made a short introduction of their service and purposes. They had also made an update of events covering from June until October. Each speakers voiced out their plans for the rest of the school year, and their request for the parents. The purpose of the meeting was clear. The school wants to show its deep gratitude to the parents in sending their children to LCC. The school wants to build and strengthen its relationship with parents in supporting the students in terms of academic and spiritual development. The school had also informed the parents about the opening of the Hotel Maya that will serve as an income generation for the school. This General Assembly serves as a galvanizing event for a better relationship between the parents and the school.
