Loyola College of Culion is now offering Teacher’s Certificate Program (TCP) with the help of St. Paul University- Manila.
July 22, 2011, St. Paul University- Manila (SPU-M) President, Sr. Lilia Therese Tolentino, SPC and Loyola College of Culion (LCC) President, Fr. Ismael Jose V. Chan-Gonzaga, SJ signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the presence of Ms. Mary Grace F. Non - College Dean; Fr. Marlito G. Ocon, SJ - LCC Treasurer; Sr. Maria Vicenta Estrella, SPC- VP for Finance Services and Dr. Elizabeth D. Ramos – Dean of Graduate School, to offer additional units of education to the graduates of AB Literature as well as to the graduating class of the said course this year.The primary mission of the SPU-M TCP is to provide non-education degree holder a thorough understanding of basic concepts and principles of Teaching and Learning. It enhances the basic knowledge of the methodologies and strategies of teaching and learning that includes: assessment, educational technology and developmental reading.
TCP consists of 30 units. 18 units Professional Education courses will be lectured by SPU-M faculty themselves. Six (6) units Field Study will be handled by the Dean herself- Ms. Mary Grace F. Non and the other six (6) units Practice Teaching by LCC OSA Director Mr. Joseph U. Pastrano, IV. Both are included as SPU-M faculty.
Enrolment for TCP was held last November 16 – 18, 2011, Wednesday to Friday at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There were limited slots for this program. Surely, fourteen (14) students were reserved for the graduating students of AB Literature . As of now, there are still enrollees for the said program.
