Loyolans, Culion’s Pride!

By Jonathan D. Cadabuna Jr., Khrizna Joie I. Batuigas, and Vanessa Ferl A. Quilinguen

With every “bang” of the drums, with every sway of the body and hands, and with every steps of the feet, an art was successfully made. This is the simple definition of what the Loyolans did after joining the street dancing competition that was held in Coron – Culion’s neighboring island – last August 28, 2011. The competition was a part of the Kasadyaan Festival 2011, Coron’s celebration of the feast day of their Patron Saint, St. Augustine.

Due to the lack of time, the practices and preparations were only done in 3 days. Everyone extended their help by praying and wishing the Tribung Loyola good luck. The school’s efforts became fruitful because the Tribung Loyola won the first place in the competition. They received a Php 50,000 cash prize! At the end of the day, all of the Loyolans went home with a big smile on their faces. Again, it was proven that the Loyolans are indeed Culion’s pride!
