First Quarter……

First Quarter……

By: Frances Moira A. Rosello

Now that the first part of the school year has ended, let’s do a recap of the events that happened during the previous quarter. First was the Or Sem – Created to teach the students about the rules and regulations of the school. It was given to LCC students throughout the whole first week of classes. To the new ones, the Or Sem orients them about the pros and cons of being a student of LCC.

Next was the school’s Nutrition Month participation. Actually, LCC participated in the contest relevant to the theme of Nutrition Month. To be precise, Nutri-jingle, Quizbee, and Mascot --- making were the contest in which LCC placed first. And the school placed third on the Cookfest and placed second in the Search for the Cleanest and Greenest School. But still LCC had shone brighter than the rest during the awarding ceremony.

And then there’s the Ignaciana Week. As one of the most awaited celebration of every Jesuit schools, the LCC prepared for it with excitement and ardor. Several activities and programs were made for the students, teachers, and visiting alumni. One of the activities was the art exhibit. The exhibit was divided into (3) three parts namely “beautiful and historic Culion”, “always Ignatius”, and “LCC: now and then”. It showcased all photographs of Culion and the school by early residence of Culion. There were trophies of LCC and some precious memorabilia. As for “always Ignatius”, there were photos, statues, and wood carvings of St. Ignatius, his motto, and his seal.

The election of KBSC officers from the high school and CSC officers from College also took place during the first quarter.

Last but definitely not the least was the first quarter examination. The first quarter exams marked the end of the quarter. But it was the most stressful of all the events that happened. Students spent hours trying to collate all the lessons they had discussed. They gave their best until the last second of the last exam just to make sure they would have high grades on their cards. But still it was a great experience. Like the saying goes, save the best for the best.

Loyolans should bear in mind that there’s 3 more quarters yet to conquer!
