“Be united --- Be with our Family!”

“Be united --- Be with our Family!”

Last Saturday, August 20, 2011, LCC had the family day. It was a day where in families were united into one big happy family.

Family day is celebrated once a year where parents dance, sing, play and even laugh and cry.

This year’s celebration was incomparable from the past years of celebrating it. Parents were very active, participative, and cooperative. Some parents practiced every night after their works and really tried to dance with their best on that day. Some did lots of preparation for their performances. Imagine how glad and proud their children were upon seeing their parents performing on stage. Imagine how happy everyone was. It’s nice seeing them laughing in spite of problems and tiredness from a week-longwork. Yes, family day became a day for relaxation and peace of mind, a time to bond with friends, most especially of parents to their children, a day to laugh and a time to forget problems even in a short time.

There were lots of games and activities prepared wherein parents were the main players and of course winning the game with the price. Those games performed by parents brought stomachache for the watchers because they brought so much fun.

At noon time was lunch time. Eating together as a whole family is one of the traditions that we Filipinos are practicing. But due to busy schedules of works, children mostly were not experiencing it anymore. Upon arrival from school, students had no chance to eat with their parents- the reason why we were craving for it. During the last family day, we were united and everybody had the chance to dine as a whole family. It caused everyone to eat more and more. We’re together. No busy schedule. No work at all.

Games continued after lunch.

The family day ended with a short presentation from students in different year levels in High School and College. Upon performing, students showed how happy they were having parents who were very supportive and talented as they were. By the performances, many had said “Like mother, like daughter”, “Like mother, like son”, “Like father, like daughter”, “Like father, like son”.

It’s so nice to hear those magical sounds. Thus, everyone was proud to each other.

Thanks to the teachers, thanks to the parents, thanks to the students, and most especially thanks to the God who created all things beautiful and made that day very fulfilling and successful.

We can proudly say that the family day was one of the BEST DAYS EVER!
