Part of the celebration of “LinggongWika” was the historical tour, where students had the chance to know the history of Culion and its relics of the past.
The tour was held last Monday afternoon, August 15, 2011, led by the third year college class who were the Pioneering Students of Entrepreneurial Tourism who studiedCulion’s History. The class was divided into four-composing of 9 or 10 persons in each group. They stood like tourist guides for their fellow students… Likewise, students from 1st year HS to 4thyear college were also divided into four (4)groups. Each group was composed of about 60 students. Each team had its own itinerary for their destination… Tour guides applied differentstrategies and approach on how to deal with their guests. According to them, it’s hard to handle large group, especially those stubborn. It needs patience and control of temper in dealing with them. After all, those hardships they gave through were worth giving. They were able to share the learning they got to the students who will in turn share the history of Culion to the coming generations.
The starting activity of LinggongWika was very historical which gave impact to LCC students. As the saying goes, “History molds part of one’s life and personality.”
