As a part of this year’s Saint Ignatius celebration, LCC held a concert with the theme: “Sariling Atin” concert last Friday night. Tribung Loyola Folkloric Dance troupe exhibited their dancing prowess that night. The invocation gave the audience their first awe in the program, with a combination of prayer, music and illuminating hand mime. Surely, the following dance suites amazed them which include Rural, Muslim, Maria Clara, Tribal, and of course, modern suite.
All the dances were excellent, but some like the Pandanggo sa bulig, Wasiwas, Lapay sa Bantigue were favorites. The highlight of the program was like the Filipinized rendition of rumba performed by Dance Troupe veteran, Ms. Angelique Mariano and newcomer Mr. Jewel Rey Ibañes. The night was also serenaded by Mr. Paul Anthony Jackson, Ms. Prize Baldos and Ms. Nikkiloise Villera- three of LCC balladeers.
Finally, the program ended with a modern dance with all the dancers rocking in a Korean hit song “Hot Issue”. The program also served as a celebration for the blessings our school received from the Almighty as of winning the British Council. It’s also a way of showing Loyolan’s potential for becoming better.
